Shamanism
Shaman (pronounced shah-mahn) comes from a Siberian tribal word and shamanism, as described by Mircea Eliade is "a technique of ecstasy." Shamanism is an ancient practice of using altered states of consciousness to connect with the spirits of the natural world.

A Shaman-healer journeys to sacred places in NOR (non ordinary reality) with the help of the drum, rattle, power animal, guides and returns to OR (ordinary reality) with information, knowledge, wisdom and healing powers for a client, group, community or nation.
